Fishing in the Mur

Fishing is allowed in two zones of the Mur in the region Murau-Kreischberg:

  • damned area Bodendorf
  • damned area St. Georgen

Damned area Bodendorf

The damned area Bodendorf is a 2 km long, slow flowing water – witch access on both sides of the shore.

  • price: day ticket: € 43,00, afternoon ticket: € 30,00
  • length: 2,3 km from the force path Bodendorf to the Wandritschbrücke
  • fish stocks: brown- and rainbow trout, sometimes also graylings
  • bait: you may use all permitted fishing methods stipulated in the Styrian Fisheries Act. Live and multiple baits, as well as lures are not permitted. Barbs must be pressed on and lead below the bait is not allowed either. Also prohibited is the “Tiroler Hölzl” or any similar fishing method.

Damed area St. Georgen

The damned area in St. Georgen is a 2,5 km long, perfectly calm area in the Mur.

  • price: day ticket: € 35,00, afternoon ticket: € 24,00
  • length: 2,5 km between the power plants St. Georgen and Bodendorf
  • fish stocks: brown- and rainbow trout; sometimes also graylings
  • bait: you may use all permitted fishing methods stipulated in the Styrian Fisheries Act. Live and multiple baits, as well as lures are not permitted. Barbs must be pressed on and lead below the bait is not allowed either. Also prohibited is the “Tiroler Hölzl” or any similar fishing method.
