Lippizaner Stud Farm Piber

The stud Piber is only an hour’s drive, 38 minutes and 100 km from the Hotel Gasthof Lercher in Murau.

The stable doors are open for public daily.

Throughout Austria, the Lipizzaner Stud Piber, the only state stud in Austria, has the responsibility to breed the Lipizzaner horses, which then perform at the world famous Spanish Riding School in Vienna. The imperial baroque horses can be experienced due to guided tours through the stud farm, carriage rides, tournaments and during their “summer retreat” at the mountain pasture.

Every year, numerous visitors are impressed by the Lipizzaner and are eager to learn more about the famous white horses. Children are especially thrilled about our exploration trail for kids and the adventure playground. Our youngest foals (spending their first year at the stud farm) are a special part amongst our smallest, but also older visitors.
