The region Murau-Kreischberg is embedded between the Niedere Tauern and the Nockberge and offers ideal conditions for a motorcycle- or vintage car-tour. The breathtaking nature can also be enjoyed in a convertible.
Murau is an ideal stop during a tour or as a starting point going into different directions. There is nothing getting in the way of an excursion to Slovenia! An absolute highlight is the Sölkpass - its panoramic road is connecting the Murtal with the Ennstal. Thus the Sölkpass isn’t frequently used in winter, the snow is not cleared from the road.

The Alpine pass in Styria
Only 45 minutes by car from the Hotel Gasthof Lercher in Murau!
The Sölkpass leads over the Niedere Tauern of Styria. It is situated at the border between Wölzer- and Schladminger Tauern and connects the Murtal and the Ennstal through a panoramic road – known as the Erzherzog-Johann-road.
The Sölkpass is situated at an altitude of 1.788 m and due to the minimal use of the road, not cleared of snow in winter. There are a number of very interesting view points along the mountain pass road.
From the Sölkpass you have the possibility to cross over the Radstätter Tauernpass and the Triebener Tauernpass, which is situated in the East.
