Wörthersee in Carinthia

The Wörthersee is approx. 1,5 hours by car from the Hotel Lercher in Murau.

The Wörthersee is located in the hilly landscape of the border triangle of Austria, Italy and Slovenia and is 17 km long.

Pörtschach with its flower promenade, the famous Velden with its casino, the pilgrimage place Maria Wörth and the regional capital Klagenfurt invite you for a visit. Whether you go swimming, sailing, surfing, water skiing or wakeboarding, the region offers you enough possibilities between the mountains and the lake.

The up to 27°C warm Wörthersee is known as a water sport paradise and is very popular. The “Wörthersee-Mandl” – a legend of the formation of the lake – leads on a 55 km long hike around the Wörthersee and offers lots of brilliant views to the lake and the mountain range of the Karawanken.

Cyclists also have a lot of possibilities all around the Wörthersee. Cycling tours – cycling with the family along the Drau-cycling path through the beautiful Rosental.
