Tips from Anna Lercher for the perfect hiking equipment:
- hiking shoes with a high-grip sole - a safe grip helps you climbing up and down the mountain
- hiking clothes - multiple layers help to be prepared for any kind of temperature. Don't forget cold- and rain protection as well as sunscreen!
- hiking backpack - enough water and food are a must. Please be sure to only bring what you really need.
- walking sticks - your ideal hiking company.
- First aid kid - for small injuries: bandages. Also don't forget to pack band-aids (in case you get blisters) and sunscreen. For emergencies: charge your mobile phone; the number of the mountain rescue is 140 and the EU-emergency number is 112.
Delightful hiking
Plan your hiking tour carefully. At the reception you receive useful tips for your special experience in the mountain world of Murau. Always keep one eye on the current weather situation when starting your tour, so if there is a weather change, you are able to stop in time and get to a safe place.
In order to mind and respect the natural habitat of animals and plants, we kindly ask to stay on the marked path. If you encounter cows on your way, make sure to keep your distance and do not feed them. Dogs must be kept on a leash. In case of a cow attacking your dog, let go of the leash!
Adapt your pace to the pace of your fellow hikers and enjoy the breathtaking view at the Nockberge, the Niedere and Hohe Tauern. Don't forget to stop and take a break in order for you to completely take in the beauty of nature and take a deep breath.
